Checks are as follows: - Serial number correct length; - Check digit verification obtained by mathematical operations on the serial number; - Presence or absence of the serial number in the Police Force Data Bank counterfeit notes archives, provided by the Italian Ministry of Interior; Wi-fi or carrier data connection is necessary for this last check. (NOTE: at the moment the connection to the Police database via H3G italian operator is not active for unspecified network problems. We hope the carrier will fix it soon). EuroCheck also contains a practical and essential guide that will help you to identify counterfeit euros. It seems almost a century since the introduction of the euro, and despite so many optimistic statements that guaranteed the non-reproducibility, many fake euros are on currency nowadays!
